Tumwater Clothes Closet
Who We Are - We are the Lifeskills & LINCS students. The Lifeskills and LINCS program teach special education students, above the age of 16, how to perform daily tasks. As clothing is collected we learn how to sort, launder, fold, and label while working as a team. Clothing is distributed to Tumwater School District area infants & teens.
How We Distribute Clothing - If you are residing in Tumwater School District and are in need of children's clothing, we are here to help. Please notify your school counselor of any need. The school counselor will place a request to the Clothes Closet and deliver any clothing to the child anonymously. Several times a year PTA & PTO's in our schools sponsor clothing giveaway events where children can shop for clothes in the school gym.
How to Donate - Donations of clean clothes in good condition can be made during school hours at the Tumwater School District Office, Tumwater High School, and Black Hills High School. If you have large amounts of clothing, or would like to host a clothing drive, please contact us below. Cash donations can be made to Tumwater School District Student Assistance Fund with 'Clothes Closet' written in the memo line. Cash donations allow us to wash clothes at the laundromat, purchase detergents and bleach, and cover other small incidentals.
Items of Special Need - Besides gently used clothes, we currently are in need of socks, shoes, new underwear, laundry detergent, & bleach.
