    Education/Teaching Background: Kathleen Alviar is a graduate (Magna Cum Laude) of Eastern Washington University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education in 1996.  She has taught choral music for sixteen years, and is currently the director of choral music at Black Hills High School and Tumwater Middle School.  Prior to teaching in Tumwater, Kathleen was the director of choral music at Hermiston High School, in Hermiston, OR. Additionally, she directed the adult and children’s choirs at Lincoln Heights United Church of Christ in Spokane and a men’s chorus at the Two Rivers Correctional Institute in Umatilla, Oregon.  Kathleen completed a Master of Music degree (with distinction) in choral conducting at the University of Washington.

    Note: Wednesdays are Asynchronous days! No live meetings.
    Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic all live music performances and events are cancelled for the 2020/2021 School Year until further notice.  However, students will be learning music virtually and will have the opportunity to participate in virtual performances.  Additionally, students will continue to study other aspects of music (history, appreciation, technology) as we always have!  Please make sure that you are signed up for the TMS Choir Google Classrooms for announcements and assignments.
