In 2005, I graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a BA in French and History with my teaching degree in Secondary Education (grades 6-12). Several years later, I supplemented my teaching endorsements to include K-8.
I obtained a Masters in Literacy from Eastern Washington University in 2022. I am excited to serve as a Reading and LAP Specialist at Peter G.
This is my fourth year teaching at Peter G. Schmidt. It is a privilege to work with such kind staff. It is an amazing community. I also teach the Literacy & Art Lab which is an opportunity for students to explore literacy strategies. This specialist course supports student growth in literacy and art while providing students with the opportunity to develop literacy skills and make cross-curricular connections.
I grew up in Olympia, WA, and graduated from Capital High School in 2000.
My husband, Matt, and I met in Seattle. We have been married 17 years and have two beautiful daughters.
We love camping, hiking, and playing with our 6-year-old yellow lab, Daisy.
Fun fact: Our cat is named after my husband's favorite guitarist, Angus.
