I just wanted to take a moment to say how proud I am of students, parents, teachers, and other school staff for making it to the end of this crazy school year. A special thank you to:
- my students who participated in teletherapy throughout the spring.
- parents and other family members who worked on the speech/language materials I sent home.
I hope everyone has a fun, restful, and safe summer. I already can't wait to see my students in September!
(Here's a screenshot from one of my last teletherapy sessions of the year.)School Closure Update (5/1/20)I started weekly speech teletherapy sessions with students last week, and I am seriously loving seeing their faces and working with them again! It has also been great to have quick check-ins with parents to see how things are going for the whole family, and to answer any questions they may have. Teletherapy sessions will continue through the last week of school (last day of school is June 19th).Packets with individualized speech/language materials are also continuing to be mailed/emailed to families that have requested them. Next week, I will be mailing out packets to families that I have not made contact with yet. The packets include general tips for working on speech/language skills at home, tips for reading aloud with kids, scavenger hunts, and more!I think we will be getting some sunny weather next week, and I'm looking forward to getting out and enjoying the sunshine between teletherapy sessions. I hope you are able to enjoy the nice weather, too!School Closure Update (4/16/20)Thank you to everyone who has responded with their preferred service delivery for the remainder of the school year!
- I have a tentative schedule for those that chose teletherapy, which will start next week on Tuesday. I will be in contact with those families on Friday/Monday to let them know their student's speech day/time and to provide instructions on how to access our Zoom therapy sessions. I am so looking forward to seeing my students again!
- For those families that chose to have materials mailed/emailed, I will be working on those materials Friday/Monday, with the goal of emailing on Monday and mailing from the district office on Tuesday.
As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns!School Closure Update (4/14/20)An email has been sent to families of current speech/language students with options for services for the remainder of the school year. Thank you to everyone that has already responded!School Closure Update (4/13/20)This week I will make contact with all families of students receiving speech/language services, regarding options for services for the remainder of the school year.
