Thank you for visiting our Transportation Department web site. Our team is committed to providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation for all of our students. Our dedicated team of drivers, mechanics, routers, and support staff work together to maintain high standards in bus safety and service quality. We strive to create a positive experience for students and parents, prioritizing safety and accessibility in all aspects of our transportation operations. We are now accepting Bus Transportation Requests for the 2025-2026 school year. All students wanting to utilize school bus transportation must be assigned to a bus route.
If your student is currently assigned to a bus, but will no longer be riding, please email Heather Cooley at heather.cooley@tumwater.k12.wa.us to have your child removed from the bus roster. This frees up a seat for other students.
If your student qualifies for special needs or preschool transportation, please contact your student’s case manager to set up transportation.
If your student is not currently assigned to a bus and will not ride a school bus during the 2025-2026 school year, no action is needed on your part.
The deadline for Transportation Requests is Friday, August 1. If you are registering before June 1st, please note "2025-2026" in the comments section of your request.
Transportation request forms will be required for the following:
· New students
· Students who were not assigned to a bus at the end of the 2024-2025 school year, but will need transportation for the 2025-2026 school year.
· Students with a change of address
· Students with an alternate stop (ie. Daycare, grandparent’s home, etc.)
· Students needing transportation to/from more than one household
· Students moving up from elementary school to middle school, or middle school to high school
· High school students attending Cascadia High School, New Market High School or New Market Skills Center who need transportation
In order to provide your child with transportation, it is necessary to have accurate information. Your address and phone number must be current in Qmlativ (Skyward) for us to route your student. If you need to update your information, please contact your school before submitting a request for transportation. The earlier Transportation has all the requests, the sooner we can get route information to families and schools.
We are requesting that families use the online request form, accessible on the Transportation page of the Tumwater School District website. Please go to https://www.tumwater.k12.wa.us/domain/32 and select “Bus Transportation Request Form.” You will also find information on our page about following your child’s bus with our “Edulog Parent Portal Lite” bus tracking application.
