Worksite Learning (WSL) is a program for high school students that connects knowledge and skills obtained in the classroom to the workplace, enabling students to earn credits towards graduation, improve GPA, and create a graduation pathway. The program is simple, if you are 16 or older and have a job, you may be eligible to receive a .5 credit for every 180 hours worked!

The Tumwater School District is committed to ensuring each student obtains essential skills necessary to succeed in a career that provides them with a sustainable living family wage by: Delivering engaging hands-on courses that are relevant to today's workplace, Upholding rigorous industry and academic standards, Partnering with community business and industry leaders for mentorship and vision, Inspiring and preparing students to set and pursue fulfilling career goals. All students in CTE courses are connected with practice and growth in technical and leadership skills necessary to excel in meaningful post-secondary educational opportunities and life.

CTE graduation pathway requirements: 2.0 high school credits in CTE courses; AND Both credits are in the same CTE Program Area; AND The course has access for students to earn dual credit; OR Leads to an Industry Recognized Credential (IRC); OR Is a Core Plus program.

Summer programs offer Tumwater students with meaningful paid credential programs that offer credit towards graduation and industry recognized certifications.

CTE Dual Credit is technical college credit earned in high school that gives students a jump start to a college education. Student completing approved technical classes while in high school can earn both high school and college credit simultaneously. In order to receive college credit students must

1. meet specific grading criteria for each class which requires a minimum of a grade each semester and
2. other technical performance competencies outlined by the college
