Facilities Advisory Committee

Dear Tumwater Community,

In 2021, the Tumwater School District Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) recommended a 4-year capital levy to address short-term building and technology needs. This capital levy was approved by our community in 2022 and is funding $24.1 million for facility improvements and technology. In 2023, the committee met to review the possibility of placing a bond on the ballot in 2024. After discussions, the FAC recommended tabling the bond measure to a future date.

Now we are looking for additional volunteers to join our Facilities Advisory Committee to work on a multi-year plan of capital construction projects that will address needs in our school buildings.

This Facilities Advisory Committee will meet monthly in the evening to identify needs, priorities and schedules in order to make a recommendation regarding capital projects and their funding (bond or levy) to our school board by October 2025. The first meeting will be Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the Tumwater District Office (621 Linwood Avenue SW.)

If you know of someone that you think may be interested, please nominate them by providing their name and contact information on the form and I will reach out to see if they are interested in serving on our committee.
