Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Keeling the Orchestra Director of Tumwater Middle School, Black Hills High School, Black Lake Elementary and Tumwater Hill Elementary. There are five different orchestras that he teaches every day: TMS Symphonia, TMS Camerata, BHHS Orchestra and two 5th Grade Orchestras. This is his third year in Tumwater School District and he absolutely loves his job. One of his favorite things about teaching is seeing students progress from beginners to advanced musicians every year!
Mr. Keeling is a Central Washington University alumni with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. Here's a cool fact: Mr. Keeling grew up in Tumwater and attended Black Lake Elementary and Tumwater Middle School before graduating from Black Hills High School! Teaching at the same schools he attended is pretty neat. He loves this area and hopes to live here for a very long time! Along with teaching, Mr. Keeling is a very active musician. He performs with local music groups and symphonies. Two of the orchestras that he performs with are South Puget Sound Community College Orchestra and Olympia Symphony Orchestra. They have fantastic concerts scheduled all throughout every year, including the free summer performance, Concert at the Capital, held right on the Capitol lawn.
In the world outside of music, Mr. Keeling is frequently recognized as the biggest Seattle Sounders fan you'll ever meet. Not only is he is very passionate about soccer, but also spends many hours outdoors throughout the year. Some of his favorite activities are playing soccer, mountain biking. volleyball, hiking, swimming and disc golf.
