Each spring, students at Littlerock Elementary in grades three through six participate in the Measurements of Student Progress, or the MSP as it is commonly referred, with their peers throughout the state of Washington.
The MSP is one way in which we assess student strengths and weaknesses and are able to better design our curriculum and programs. All grade level are assessed in the areas of reading and math while fourth grade is also assessed in writing and fifth grade is assessed in science. Each assessmnet is an untimed test and students are supervised by Littlerock staff to ensure an optimal testing environment.Along with other districts, Tumwater is transitioning to online testing. For students with Individualized Educational Plans the option remains that they can take a paper and pencil version of the test. For all other students, online testing will soon become the standard.
