    The PTO works hard to put on fun events for our MTS families. Our annual Fall Festival is coming up Thursday Nov. 24. There will be several fun activities planned and we are in need of volunteers to help it run smoothly! They will have several shifts so that everyone has a chance to partake in all the fun festivities!! Click here to find a shift that works for you!

  • PTO Presents MTS Fall Festival!

    Mark you calendar! The MTS PTO will be putting on our annual Fall Festival! Please join us Thursday, October 24th from 6:00-8:00. Bring the whole family for trunk or treating, cake walk, dancing and loads of games! Candy donations and Volunteers for the event are immensely appreciated. Use our sign up genius if you are able to volunteer for the event.Cant wait to see you all there!

  • Veteran's Day Assembly

    We would like to invite all family members that are currently serving or served in the armed forces to join us Friday, November 8th at 9am for our Veterans Day assembly. We will have a slideshow to honor our Veterans, so please send any pictures you have of your beloved service member to justin.mckaughan@tumwater.k12.wa.us so we can include them!

  • SOCKTOBER SOCK DRIVE

    Just one pair or a dozen pair, it doesn't matter...it all helps! It's going to be a cold winter and those in need list socks as a crucial necessity during the winter months. 5th grade Leadership @ MTS is hosting a sock drive through the month of October. All socks will be distributed to a local homeless shelter. We are looking for NEW Socks of all sizes. Sock collection boxes will be located in the A, B, C Pods, the "Wolf Den" and in the Gym. Thank you for your generosity and supporting this SOCKTOBER event!

  • Check The Lost And Found

    The lost and found is filling up fast! Please send your student to check for any items that may have been lost. Conference week is coming up, parents feel free to browse the lost and found while you're waiting for your conference. The lost and found is located in the hall by the music room. We will be donating all unclaimed items.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences

    Fall conferences are November 4th-8th. Parents, you can schedule conferences through family access in Skyward beginning October 7th. The deadline to Schedule online is October 25th. After that your students teacher will schedule for you. If you do not have your log-in and password information please contact the front office.

  • Highly Capable Program

    The Tumwater School District offers a self contained, highly capable program at Michael T. Simmons for students in grades 3-5. Fall nomination is open. Students must be nominated by Friday, November 9th using the nomination form. You can pick up a copy at the main office!

  • ACT Friday

    ACT Friday early release starts Friday 9/13/2019. Students will be released at 1:55. Bus routes run 75 minutes ahead of normal schedule on ACT release days.

  • We Are Under Construction!!

    Summer is officially here and our office is under construction! We are making changes to improve safety and security. We have relocated the office to Pod A room 2. We are now closed for the summer and will reopen on Monday, August 19th. We look forward to seeing everyone at our Ice Cream Social on Thursday, August 29th from 4:00-6:00. Have a fantastic SUMMER!!

    It’s time to Walk N Roll! Intercity Transit’s Walk N Roll program invites all students and families to join Michael T. in learning how to walk to school safely. Meet at 8:10 at the park located on G Street and Wrigley. Look for Principal Hedin and Tumwater Police! Michael T. is Walking N Rolling to school all year long!   • School Safety Tip Line - (360) 709-7998

    Students and other members of the public can anonymously report or share information of a threat or potential threat to student safety. Callers will be able to leave a voice message at (360) 709-7998. Messages are monitored by the administrative office during regular business hours. Please note this is not an emergency response line. If you are reporting an emergency situation, please call 911. When leaving your tip, please leave as much detail as possible so that your concern can be thoroughly investigated. All tips will be considered seriously. An online platform for tips will be added to our webpage soon.
