Good morning "Lovelies". I miss being with you today, but we can still be together via technology. I found a great site called "Street View". You can take a virtual tour of museums around the world. I am going to pick artists for us to follow. When we are back together again we can discuss our favorite paintings. Our museum for this week is the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands. What is your favorite painting or set of paintings for this week?

HAPPY TUESDAY  AR test from home

Yesterday I cleaned the inside of my kitchen cupboards and played with my puppy. It is not easy to practice social distancing, but I am doing it. I really miss being at school with you. However, we will get through this together. Here are the answers to yesterday's assignments. I will then post what to do today. Remember to visit the museum today. I know Allie sent me an e-mail about how cool she thought it was. My favorite VanGogh painting is hanging in my house.

    TUESDAY 3/24

HAPPY TUESDAY! YESTERDAY HAD ME WALKING IN THE RAIN WITH MY PUPPY. I READ SOME AND CLEANED PICTURE FRAMES. MY LIFE COULDN'T GET MORE EXCITING IF I TRIED. I HOPE YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES ARE DOING WELL AND FINDING WAYS TO OCCUPY YOUR TIME. WITH THE SHELTER IN PLACE BEING CALLED FOR LAST NIGHT, I THINK IT IS A GOOD TIME TO RECOMMEND READING THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK. ANNE, WHO WAS A LITTLE OLDER THAN YOU ARE, WENT IN TO HIDING FROM THE NAZI. SHE, ALONG WITH HER FAMILY AS WELL AS TWO OTHER FAMILIES, HID IN AN ATTIC FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS. THEY COULD NOT STEP OUTSIDE, AND THEIR ONLY LOOK AT THE SKY WAS THROUGH A SKYLIGHT AT THE TOP OF THE ATTIC. I HAVE BEEN TO THE ATTIC IN AMSTERDAM. IT IS QUITE SOBERING TO SEE THE LIVING QUARTERS. IN ADDITION, THE PEOPLE COULD NOT MOVE DURING THE DAY IN FEAR OF SOMEONE NOTICING THEY WERE HIDING IN THE ATTIC. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Time spent on the I-Ready lessons I assigned

You will begin your plot map

         1. Draw the mountain

         2. On the bottom left, write setting, protagonist, antagonist, point of view (1st person) -

         3. In the middle of your plot map write conflict

         4. On the top write climax

         5. On the bottom right write resolution

Your assignment for your narrative is to write your personal narrative about your class taking a field trip to the Grand Canyon. Today decide on the setting, protagonist, antagonist, conflict, resolution - fill these in on your chart

    PERIOD I (GEDDE):

    AR 30 minutes

Time spent on I-Ready completing the lessons I assigned

Your articles should be annotated. We can't do the video. At this point, you have a choice. You may now research a topic that you want to write a personal narrative around, or you may answer the questions associated with the packet. We will complete question 1, taking out the word video (we won't use that) and question 2, only comparing the two articles. We will take two days to complete this assignment whether you are researching or answering the questions. We will move on to the next step on Thursday.

Remember, if you are answering the questions, 2 paragraphs for each question.

More of you are hopping on i-ready. Good Job. If you did not pass the lessons you were taking, I reset the lessons to give you more learning. Make sure you are writing down proof for your answers just like with our CFA's.

Homeroom (Dahlen): you should have plot events for your rising action and falling action. If you had trouble with that, you could use the following:

         2. arrive at school meeting friends

         3. arrive at the bat caves

         4. enter the caves - so excited

climax - fellow student gets scared

         falling action:

         1. teacher takes care of student

         2. we have to leave - feel disappointed

         3. get home - tell Mom and Dad

         resolution

         1. Mom and Dad say they will take you and a friend on the weekend
