Name: Kathleen Alviar (Director) She/HerRoom: Choir RoomPosition(s): Choir TeacherEducation/Teaching Background: Kathleen Alviar is a graduate (Magna Cum Laude) of Eastern Washington University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education in 1996. She has been teaching choral music for twenty four years, and is currently the choir teacher at Black Hills High School and Tumwater Middle School. Prior to teaching in Tumwater, Kathleen was the director of choral music at Hermiston High School, in Hermiston, Oregon. Additionally, she directed the adult and children’s choirs at Lincoln Heights United Church of Christ in Spokane and First Christian Church in Olympia, as well as a men’s chorus at the Two Rivers Correctional Institute in Umatilla, Oregon. Kathleen completed a Master of Music degree in choral conducting at the University of Washington.
