    Kids Closet Clothing Bank

    Volunteers are needed for set-up and pack-up for the upcoming Kids Closet Clothing Giveaway.

    Volunteer Times:

     Friday, March 1st, from 2:30 - 5pm

    Saturday, March 2nd, from 2:30 - 4pm

     

    Volunteers should report to the gym at Michael T. Simmons Elementary at shift start times.

    BONUS: if you see something you like, it's yours!

    BICYCLE REPAIR

    Volunteer with Walk N Roll

    Bike Shop Volunteer

    At the Walk N Roll Bike Shop, volunteers learn and practice bicycle mechanic skills while refurbishing donated bikes.

    These bikes are then used to support Walk N Roll’s bicycle education programs. All skill levels are welcome, and no bike mechanic experience is necessary.

    After applying, new volunteers attend a shop orientation on the first Saturday of the month 1 to 3 p.m.

    Regular volunteer hours are Wednesday 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    Volunteers are also needed to assist with Bicycle Education Classes and Special Events like Bike Rodeos.

    The March Teens in Thurston event will be a Native Plant Festival & Sale! 

    The event will take place on Saturday, March 2nd, 9am - 4pm. 

    Here’s a description of the event:

    The Thurston Conservation District Native Plant Festival & Sale is a free and exciting event! Community members can purchase native plants at the walk-up sale, shop local vendors, check out community organizations, eat delicious food, and listen to live music.

    Help us find these plants a new home while meeting fellow botany enthusiasts, local vendors, and community organizations. As a TnT volunteer, you will be helping with native plant packaging to prepare orders for customers. There will also be an opportunity to work at the South Sound GREEN education booth if that is something that interests you. LUNCH will be provided!!

    For this event, please sign up using this form by Thursday, February 29th. You will see that the form gives you several options for day and time slots, as well as the option to attend a volunteer training session on Wednesday, February 21st from 6:30 to 7:30 pm via zoom. This is highly recommended for those who have not participated in Plant Sale before!

    Puget Sound Estuarium - Downtown Olympia

    The Estuarium is looking for teen volunteers to assist the Lead Interpreter at their Marine Discovery Center during weekend open hours. Teen volunteers can show off rotating exhibit specimens, point out hidden animals in the aquariums, or run a themed craft or activity for visitors. Teen volunteers may be able to take on independent projects as well. Volunteer orientation and training are available.
