Students will read from the Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge (PHAK) and the Airplane Flying Handbook (AFH) to review requirements for getting a pilot's license and how to taxi an aircraft.

Then they will make a simple model of a Cessna 172 and identify its main parts and functions. We will see how the flight control surfaces work using the flight simulators.

We will use a wind tunnel to learn how lift is generated by an airfoil. Then students will use the flight simulators to identify the factors that affect the amount of lift generated by a wing of an aircraft.
