Identification and Notification
Identification and Placement in the Elementary Highly Capable Program
The Multidisciplinary Team reviews the performance data for all students tested and identifies students who require services well beyond the normal learning classroom to be successful. The Team compiles additional district assessment data to understand the student's assessment profile. Student’s academic achievement data, district assessment records, parent and teacher referral information, plus any other available pertinent information will be reviewed in the process. Students will not be affected in a negative way if there is a missing test score or other data.
Notification Process
Summary letters will be mailed the first week of February with the Multidisciplinary Team’s recommendation for placement of each student. Before students can be placed into the Highly Capable program, we must have signed parent/guardian permission approving the placement.
