After graduating from North Thurston High School in 1998, I spent two years working towards an engineering degree at the University of Washington. Changing my major to education prompted a transfer to Western Washington University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 2004. After a short stint as a long term substitute at Nisqually Middle School, I began teaching in the Tumwater High School Math Department in the Fall of 2004. I earned my Master's in Education at Seattle Pacific Universtiy in 2009.
