EARN A SCIENCE, CTE, AND ELECTIVE CREDIT TOWARD GRADUATION WHILE PREPARING FOR A REWARDING CAREER RIGHT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL!
Program Description: Preparing students to engage in the specialized service and maintenance of all types of vehicles. Learn how to properly diagnose malfunctions, adjust, repair, and replace parts. Taught by an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Technician in an Automotive Service Excellence Education Foundation (ASEEF) certified training facility, students are prepared to enter the workforce right out of high school while also preparing for advanced training and certification.
One or two year program. Rotating academic schedule teaching 4 of the 8 ASE certification areas each year: Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Steering and Suspension, Heating Ventilation Air Conditiong, and Engine Performance and Driveability for the 2020-2021 school year and Manual Transmission/Transaxle, Brakes, Electrical and Engine Mechanical for the 2021-2022 school year.
High School Equivalency Credits: Students earn 3.0 credits per year allocated as 1.0 Lab Science, 1.0 Career Technical Education, 1.0 Elective. These credits may fulfill up to 2 foreign language and 1 fine art credit for students not planning on attending a 4 year university.
College Credits: Credits available through South Puget Sound Community College: Auto 100 (5 credits)
Students who successfully complete the program and have earned a grade of B or better for all grades, will be eligible to apply.
