It is Science Fair time! Let’s have some fun learning and exploring new things together. Kids, you can ask most any question. Better yet, you get to try and answer them!!!! MTS Science Fair Information: Thursday, December 4 (8:30-10:30am for students) and Friday, December 5 (5:30-7pm for parents and students). To participate in the MTS Science Fair, fill out and return a Registration Form to your teacher as soon as possible. Registration forms and information packets can be found on our website under “Quick Links.” MAKE SURE FORM IS COMPLETE BEFORE HANDING IN!
Looking for parent volunteers who work in a scientific field and would like to volunteer as a Community Scientist at the MTS Science Fair. The MTS Science Fair is Thursday, December 4th, from 5:30-7:00pm in the gym. You would meet with MTS scientists who have a project to present, listen to their presentation, ask questions and give positive feedback to them regarding their projects. Michael T. Simmons will present another holiday show this year. Any student in Kindergarten through 6th grade wishing to be in a performance event is welcome to participate in this compilation of winter and holiday songs called, “Elfis and the Sleigh Riders.” Your son or daughter will be taught the songs in general music class. We will practice the show together after school, times to be announced. All 6th grade students in the Tumwater School District will participate in a field trip to Camp Thunderbird on Summit Lake, west of Olympia. Camp Thunderbird is less than 30 minutes away. Students will have a full day of outdoor experiences which will include a multitude of environmental science options. They will also be able to connect with their respective middle school peers.
