The PTO is an organization of parents and teachers created to provide student enrichment, parent and family involvement and parent support. Michael T. Simmons has fantastic support that we can only continue with your help. 

The PTO has raised money to fund special needs projects for the school. Our most recent project was funding for a new copy machine for the office.   We have also sponsored the new sport court on the playground, purchased the green playground equipment and installed the reader board on 2nd Avenue with money earned from our fundraisers.

The MTS PTO has an annual budget between $50-60,000. With this money we plan after school events, including the Fall Harvest Festival, Bingo Night, Reading Night, "Rock of Ages" Spring Dance, and Family Fun Night in May.   We also sponsor the Science Fair.  The PTO pays transportation costs for each class to take a field trip during the school year. This year the Missoula Children’s Theater will return for another production, Snow White.   In past years we have been able to give each teacher a $100 grant to use for classroom expenses. Each specialist ''music, integrated arts, library and PE'' has received $1500 to build and maintain their curriculum. Other activities that PTO sponsors are the yearbook, 5th and 6th grade enrichment events ''Parent Advisory Committee or PAC'' emergency preparedness, book fairs, and a scholarship to an MTS alumni that is graduating from high school.
