There are many childcare options in the local area. Listed below are programs that reside at our school sites or provide transportation from our schools. We also recommend that you contact the Child Care Action Council at

YMCA Day Care
The Tumwater School District and the YMCA have joined together to provide day care before and after school, based on the needs of the area. Day care begins at 7 am until school starts and after school until 6 pm. YMCA day care is available at Black Lake, East Olympia, Littlerock, Michael T. Simmons, and Peter G. Schmidt Elementaries. Tumwater Hill Elementary Kid Time
The Tumwater Hill PTA provides day care for students before and after school. "Kid Time" is offered between 7:00 to 9:05 a.m. and from 3:35 to 6:00 p.m. There is early afternoon start to accomodate ACT days. They are also open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. during all non-school week days, including during the summer. For more information about the "Kid Time" program at THE call 360-709-7311.
Boys and Girls Club
The Tumwater branch of the Boys and Girls Club provides before and after-school care on the Tumwater High School campus, in a building adjacent to the ball fields. Youth Drop-In Program
The Old Town Center
Run by the City of Tumwater, the Old Town Center offers programs for youth grades 3-12 after 2:30pm on a daily basis. This is a FREE drop-in program, open to all youth! The OTC is fully supervised at all times. The center offers a nutritious snack every day, pool/foosball tables, gym/basketball court, computer access, homework tutoring, Wii & X-Box 360, board & card games, big screen TV/VCR/DVD, field trips, community service opportunities, arts and crafts, leadership and many more activities. In addition to these opportunities, there are activities scheduled each afternoon for a wide variety of youth interests.
