Registration Forms and Procedures

forms. En espanol. Each school requires additional forms. Hard copies of all forms are available at each school site.

Children who will be five-years old on or before August 31 are eligible to attend kindergarten. The child’s birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency are required for enrollment. Parents may register kindergarten students during open enrollment starting in March of each year. All Day Kindergarten Enrollment
Every Tumwater Elementary School has one All Day Kindergarten class. This class is tuition-based to fund the additional half day. Students attend on the same schedule as all other elementary grade levels.
A “lottery drawing” process is used to identify participants in this program. Dates for open enrollment and information on the drawing process are announced in the early spring. Families receive notification of the drawing results by the end of May.
Student who reside within the Tumwater School District and turn 5-years old on or before August 31st are eligible for participation in the All-Day Kindergarten program at their neighborhood school. Financial assistance is available for students who qualify. All Day Kindergarten registration forms are available at your home school. For more details, click on the link below.
First Grade Enrollment
Children who will be six-years old on or before August 31 are eligible to attend first grade. Immunization records, proof of age and proof of residency are required.
Enrollment for All Other Grades
Students new to the area should register at their local school as soon as possible. Parents need to bring their child's birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency when they register. You may be asked to present a driver's license or picture ID coupled with a signed rental or lease agreement, a utility bill in your name, or a tax statement in your name. The school will then request the student's records from the previous school they attended.
Homeless students shall be registered and admitted immediately, regardless of the lack of address or appropriate records.
