My name is Todd Caffey and I am the counselor for students with the last names A - G. After receiving my Bachelors Degree in 1993, I received my Masters in Education from The University of Puget Sound in 2001 and have been a high school counselor since 2000. I started at Aberdeen High School and have been at Tumwater High School since 2005. Before working in public education I was a community mental health counselor serving children and families beginning in 1992.
Recently I was honored by The Olympia Tumwater Foundation as High School Counselor of the Year for the 2009 school year. I also have three adult children; all who have given me first hand experience of the high school, financial aid and college admission process.
Hi, my name is Sidney Reid. I am excited to be a part of the T-Bird Family!
I am originally from Rochester, Washington. I graduated from Saint Martin's University with a bachelor's degree in social studies and I loved SMU so much I stayed there to do my masters degree. I worked in the Admissions Office as a counselor at Saint Martin's while going to school. My Saint Martin’s experience gave me a large knowledge base about college admissions and scholarships that I hope to bring to THS.
I also hold a certificate for Surgical Technology. I went to Clover Park Technical School right after high school and got my technical degree. I worked in a level 2 trauma hospital in surgery for 4 years before deciding to go back to school. I loved working in surgery but I have always felt that my true calling was to be in the high school. So I gave up handing instruments to surgeons and went back to school.
In order for students to reach me they are able to stop by before school (I’m here at about 7:15 am), at break, lunch or after school. Students may also fill out a "Request to See my Counselor" pass and I will call for them as soon as possible. I love getting to know students so please come by!
Hi. I am Jill Rotter and I am the counselor for students with last names that start with P-Z. I look forward to meeting you and helping you with your high school questions/concerns, scheduling, credits, college preparation or post-high school planning. I really hope that you enjoy your time at THS because it is a great place to learn and work. I wouldn’t want to be at any other school. T-Birds are the best!
I attended Washington State University where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master of Education degree in Counseling Psychology. Before coming to THS, I was a college counselor at WSU and at Grays Harbor College.
I am usually pretty easy to find. I am here in my office by 7:15, available at both lunches, and stay after school until 2:40. If you happen to miss me or I am with a student or parent, you can leave me a note at the front desk.
I graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 1996 with a degree in English, and my teaching certification. I taught English at THS from 1996-2000 and was the Yearbook Advisor for 2 of those years. In 2000 I was hired as a School Counselor at THS, and worked full time until 2004 when we had our first child. I have been working part time at THS since then, and am grateful for my place in the T-Bird family.
Currently I am part-time at THS as the School Counselor responsible for Special Projects, and loving every minute of it. Thanks for checking out our website!
